Update From Administrator – September 3, 2020

As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.

I am pleased to report that we continue to remain COVID-free for both our residents and staff.
As you know more than anyone, it has been a difficult few month as our center has battled with COVID-19. While the number of individuals stricken with the virus has decreased dramatically, we know that it is possible we will be dealing with another surge of positive cases in our community.

Our entire team has been at work planning for this possibility, and we would like your input as we continue to refine our strategy to keep all our residents and staff safe. To that end, we have developed this brief survey that we are asking family members and residents to complete. It will only take you a few minutes and will help us learn what your priorities and main concerns may be.

Please click on this link to take a brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZXF356S which will remain open until September 8th.
Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and stay safe.

A few quick points on our outdoor visits:
• Visits must be pre-scheduled to ensure safe and healthy visits for you, the residents, and our staff. It also allows our team to ensure your loved one is available and ready for your visit to make the most of your time together.
• Face coverings must always be worn and a social distance of 6 feet between you and your loved ones for the entirety of the visit.
• Check out our website for specific guidelines and details regarding perimeter visits.
• To schedule your visit please call 508.949.0644 and leave your name and number with our receptionist and reason for the call back. Our Recreations Director will monitor the call log multiple times a day and reach out to you and setup your visit. Please be patient as your call will be returned in the order it was received. Our Team still needs to provide care and activities throughout the day to your loved one, return calls may be delayed.
• Alternative visits (Facetime, Google Duo, and window visits) are still taking place.
• Reminder that families are offered one (1) outdoor visit per week with an additional one (1) social media visit. A rotating wait list is available for more additional weekly visits as scheduling permits. You may choose no outdoor visit and receive two (2) social media visits if the need arises.
Other updates from our recreation team include:
• Each nursing unit has tablets assigned for resident use such as virtual visits, games, etc.
• Our recreation department is now able to offer small group exercises, trivia, and other activities like music to get our residents motivated and engaged.
• The Hairdresser is back, and she is available and looking to book your appointment! If you are interested in her services, please reach out to me and I will be happy to assist! *Please note that in case there are any new COVID-positive cases this service would stop for a period of time.
• We have fresh airtime where residents can get some much-needed sunshine while supervised to ensure social distancing. We have also opened our Unit 1 patio for resident use.
• Residents who are planning to discharge home and need family education regarding care, transfers, etc. are allowed into the building for trainings only and are limited in time and will be under supervision of the team. We will continue to screen each entry and explain our PPE procedures at that time.

Thank you and please stay safe and healthy!

Kind Regards,

Corey Beaudette, NHA
