State Representative Joseph McKenna Visits Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center

Webster, MA – May 17, 2019 – This morning, residents and staff met with State Representative Joseph McKenna, to help bring attention to the growing financial gap in funding nursing home care in Massachusetts.  State Representative McKenna toured the center and spoke with staff and residents, regarding the direct impact the state budget has on the center. The center has worked with legislators to educate them on the changes that have taken place in their center, as well as nursing homes across the state over the past few years.

A primary goal of the tour and meeting was to help the legislator better understand who nursing homes care for and how they provide that care and how the lack of increased funding over the past 12 years has affected everything at the center, from care to recruitment and retention of staff.  State Representative had the pleasure of meeting Webster Manor’s Resident Council President Walter “Spotsy” Pizzetti.  Mr. Pizzetti is a Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army.
